Stromboli - Rolled up Pizza

This is a different and delicious and portable way of cooking pizza.  Using a traditional pizza dough and toppings, instead of cooking it flat, roll it up into a log and bake like bread.Then slice.

Cooking in a steam assisted oven creates a beautiful crust, however you can easily cook this in a dry oven.


For the Dough.

1¾C warm water
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp dried yeast granules
4C high grade or bread flour
1½ tsp salt
3 tbsp olive oil

Toppings

3 – 4 tbsp tomato paste
Dried or fresh  Italian herbs – oregano, rosemary, thyme, basil – or any kind of pesto.
Your favourite pizza toppings- bacon, pepperoni, red and green peppers, onion......
1 – 2C grated mozzarella or cheddar cheese
¼C grated Parmesan cheese
