Spiced Summer Fruit Compote

This is the most simple dish, and makes a really delicious dessert, or you could even have it for breakfast.


It works especially well with summer fruits  and berries, but you could really use almost  any fruit you have on hand.

3 cups sliced summer fruit (peaches, plums, cherries strawberries, apricots, nectarines)


1 T honey


1 T raw sugar


½ t cinnamon


¼ t nutmeg


2 star anise


4 cloves
