Hot Cross Buns I


Just in time for Easter, here is the best recipe for hot cross buns that I tried this month. I tried several types of recipes from soft pull apart to the more substantial type, but this one I felt was the easiest and the best result of all

For the Buns

500gms 00 or high grade flour

1 tspn salt

1 1/2 T mixed spice

50gms caster sugar

50 Gms butter, chopped into cubes

2 cups mixed dried cake fruit

1 T dried yeast

200ml milk

2 eggs

For the Crosses

4T flour mixed with 3 T water

Golden syrup for the Glaze
